Advance bus tickets for Eid from May 17

Staff Correspondent: Long route bus operators will start selling advance tickets from May 17 to facilitate passengers travelling out of Dhaka to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with their families.

Advance tickets for journeys from May 30 would be available mainly for northern and south-western districts, Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners’ Association chairman Ramesh Chandra Ghosh said.

The decision was taken on Thursday at a meeting of the association. Ramesh Chandra said that the tickets would be sold from bus counters at Gabtoli terminal, Darus Salam, Kalyanpur, Shymoli and Asad Gate areas.

They were expecting that the demands for advance tickets for journeys on May 30 and May 31 would be the highest.

Bangladesh Railway is scheduled to start selling advance train tickets from May 22, said officials.

Railway on May 22 will sell advance tickets for journey on May 31, May 23 for journey of June 1, May 24 for June 2, May 25 for June 3 and May 26 for June 4 journey.

The three-day Eid vacation begins on June 4.
