Murder accused killed in Chattogram 'gunfight'

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: An accused murderer has been killed in an alleged gunfight in Chattogram's Baklia Thana area.

The deceased was known as Shah Alam.

Following the incident, four policemen including Baklia police station OC Nejam Uddin also received injuries.

Confirming the matter, Chattogram Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner Mehedi Hasan said police went to the spot with the murder accused Shah Alam to recover fire arms around 3:00am. Meanwhile, the cohorts of Mehedi opened fire which triggered the gunfight, leaving him dead on the spot.

Fire arms and ammunitions were recovered from the spot.
