Sagar-Runi murder probe report deferred again

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has set June 26 as the date for submission of the probe report on the murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas passed the order on Sunday as investigation agency (RAB) did not submit the probe report today.

Sagar, news editor of private TV station Maasranga, and his wife Runi, senior reporter of ATN Bangla, were murdered at their rented flat in the capital's West Rajabazar on February 11, 2012.

The eight accused in the case are- Enam Ahmed alias Humayun Kabir, Rafiqul Islam, Bakul Mia, Mintu alias Bargira Mintu alias Masum Mintu, Kamrul Hasan Arun, Polash Rudra Paul, Tanvir and Abu Sayeed.
