13th Padma Bridge span to be installed May 16

Secretariat Correspondent: The 13th span of the Padma Bridge is ready to be installed on the 15th and 15th pillars of the bridge.

Span 3B will be installed at the Mawa point on May 16.

Deputy Assistant Engineer of the Padma Bridge Project, Humayun Kabir said, “The span was made ready for the pillar number 30-31. But, it was installed temporarily at the pillar number 20-21 as the construction of 30-31 pillar is not completed yet.”

After the installation of the 13th span, a total of 1,950 meters of the bridge will become visible.

A total of 41 spans—each 150-metres-long—will be placed on the 42 pillars of the 6.15 kilometre bridge.
