Jashore police get former OC Moazzem’s arrest warrant

Staff Correspondent, Jashore: Police in Jashore on Wednesday received the much talked arrest warrant issued against former officer-in-charge (OC) of Feni's Sonagazi police station Moazzem Hossain.

Additional Superintendent of Jessore Police (Special Branch) Ansar Uddin said that they have received the warrant formally.

“The relatives of Moazzem Hossain have been kept under police surveillance after the arrest warrant. Special priority has been given as it is a sensational case,” Ansar Uddin said.

On April 6, some miscreants set fire on an Alim examinee⁠ named Nusrat Jahan Rafi in Feni. Later, the victim died on April 10 from the burn injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s burn unit.

Earlier, Nusrat had previously lodged a sexual harassment complaint with Sonagazi police station against Sirajuddaula on March 27. But, the OC recorded Nusrat’s speech and uploaded it on social network.
