World’s largest burn and plastic surgery institute starts journey

Staff Correspondent: Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, the world’s largest burn and plastic surgery institute, has started its formal functioning.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malik inaugurated the formal functioning of the specialized hospital on Thursday.
Coordinator of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery delivered the welcome speech.
The 17-storey institute on 76 acres of land located at Chankharpool, next to the Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover, will provide advanced treatment to burn patients while physicians and nurses will also get trainings to enhance their professional excellence.
The institute has 500 beds, 22 intensive care units (ICU), 22 high dependency units (HDU) along with physiotherapy and psycho-socio counseling, 12 operation theatres and one post-operative ward.
