Rifat murder: CCTV footage reveals more faces

Barguna Correspondent: A new footage of closed-circuit television (CCTV) revealed more faces in much talked Rifat murder case in Barguna.

The new video tape unveiled some new faces of accused who joined the killing mission. At least 20 people took part in the murder of Rifat Sharif in Barguna on June 26.  

In the new footage, Rifat Farazi and Raihan were seen attacking first Rifat Sharif in front of the college gate. Meanwhile, Rishan, younger brother of Rifat caught the victim from backside. 10-12 youths including Tanvir, Tiktok Ridoy, Rabbi and Bag Naeem cordoned the killers and moved forward. The killer gang joined the killing mission after dividing themselves in small groups.

During the brutal murder, Rishan, Rabbi Akon and Tanvir guarded Rifat Sharif so that he could not flee the scene to save his life. In the meantime, others played a role of observer. Later, the killers left the spot after completing killing mission within two-minutes.

According to the CCTV footage and information of accused arrestees, police arrested five suspected killers. They are- Kamrul Hasan, Saimun, Sagar, Tanvir and Rafiul Islam Rabbi.

Barguna police super Maruf Hossain said, there is a similarity between the information of accused and the case statement. All the killers will be brought under trial.
