Ex-MP Rana released from jail

Staff Correspondent, Tangail: Former Awami League lawmaker Amanur Rahman Khan Rana has been released from Tangail District Jail after 34 months in jail.

He was released from jail around 8.45 am on Tuesday, sources said.

Earlier on Monday, the Appellate Division upheld a High Court order that granted bail to the former lawmaker in a case filed over killing of two Juba League activists.

Following the order, there was no legal bar on releasing the former Awami League lawmaker from jail.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order.
