QR code to identify illegal rickshaws

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayor Atiqul Islam said QR code will be set up in rickshaws to identify illegal ones.

The mayor said disclosure while addressing a meeting with rickshaw-pullers, owners and ward representatives at Nagar Bhaban in capital’s Gulshan on Wednesday noon.

“No rickshaws will be allowed in main roads. Rickshaws can be run on By-lane”

He said, we will form ward-base committee to identify illegal rickshaw and garage. QR codes will be given to legal rickshaws in city corporation areas. Latest technology will be used so that anyone cannot fake it.”

Atiqul Islam said, “Database will be made for rickshaw-puller. Ward-base dress will be distributed. There is a database of 27,500 rickshaws in City Corporation.”
