Bus service on Meherpur-Kushtia road stopped

Meherpur Correspondent:  The bus service on Meherpur-Kushtia road has been stopped for the second consecutive day on Friday over the conflict between transport owners and workers.

According to sources, plying of all buses on the road have remained suspended from Thursday morning, causing immense sufferings to thousands of passengers.

Meherpur Motor Sramik Union General Secretary Motiur Rahman said transport owners are not meeting our demand of stop limit of buses as a result we are on a strike to press home our demand.

General Secretary of Transport Owners Golam Rasul said we met the demand of workers earlier but they are now raising new demands.

Police Super Sheikh Jahidul Islam said we are trying to resolve the conflict between transport owners and workers.
