Khaleda’s Gatco case charge hearing Aug 22

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court deferred to august 22 the hearing on charge framing in Gatco corruption case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Judge Abu Syed Diljar Hossain of Special Judge Court- 3 of Dhaka fixed the new date on Monday.

Earlier, the court fixed today to form charge hearing in the case but, the jail authority did not produce Khaleda Zia before the court as she was ill, now in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.  

On September 2, 2007, Anti-Corruption Commission deputy director Golam Shahriar Chowdhury filed the Gatco corruption case against Khaleda Zia, and 12 others. Later, on May 13, 2008, the ACC submitted charge-sheet against Khaleda Zia, and 23 others in the case.
