Dengue situation under control, Health Minister claims

Staff Correspondent: Health Minister Zahid Malik asked all not to be panicked over the outbreak of dengue as he claimed that it is now under control.
The minister said this after visiting patients diagnosed with dengue at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) at 12:00 pm on Saturday.
Asked about the exact number of deaths caused by dengue, the minister said, “14 people have, so far, died of dengue but the number may rise.”
“All kinds of steps are being taken to tackle the situation. An order has been made to import 50 lakh dengue identifying kits. Already, 2 lakh dengue identifying kits have arrived,” Malik said.
He asked all to work together in preventing the spread of viral disease dengue, mentioning that we have cancelled leave of all employees of our ministry.
