Salma elected unopposed from Rajbari

Staff Correspondent: Salma Chowdhury has been elected unopposed a member of the parliament in reserved seat nominated by the ruling Awami League from Rajbari.

The reserved seat fell vacant with the demise of Rushema Begum, the wife of Imamuddin Ahmad, former president of Awami League’s Faridpur district unit.

A press statement signed by Abdul Baten, joint secretary of the Election Commission secretariat, revealed the news on Sunday.
