Four of a family burnt in city AC fire

Staff Correspondent: A fire was caused by a short circuit and later it spread to an air conditioner in the capital's Kathalbagan area early Monday, leaving four members of a family burnt.

The incident took place at a house on culvert road in the area around 5:15 am.

The burnt people are Moniruzzaman Liton, 42, his wife Ulfa Begum, daughter Layba, 9, and nine-month son Liban.

Police said the fire originated from a short circuit and later, the fire spread to air conditioner of Liton’s house early in the morning, leaving the four injured.

On information, Mamun, a neighbour of Liton, rushed to the spot and brought them to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

DMCH police outpost ASI Abdullah Khan confirmed the matter.
