Homebound people facing untold sufferings

Senior Correspondent: Homebound people are facing tremendous sufferings following inclement weather and disruption in the schedules of bus, train and launch.

They have been waiting for hours at the designated counters to get their desired vehicles that will carry them home. But incessant rain adds more woes to them at the very start of their journey on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of Muslims.

After visiting bus, train and launch stations of different areas across the country, it has been noticed that vehicles carrying the homebound people are in a long tailback, causing a great suffering to the Eid rush people. Train passengers are facing schedule collapses, forcing them to wait for hours at the stations. Passengers scheduled to make their journey by ferry and launch are also experiencing shutdown of the services due to bad weather.

Vehicles carrying sacrificial animals are adding more pressure on the roads, causing long tailback and suffering to the homebound people.
