First return hajj flight arrives tonight

Senior Correspondent: The first return hajj flight of this year will arrive at Shahjalal International Airport today (Saturday) night.

An aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying pilgrims is scheduled to land at the airport at 8:40 pm, said Biman’s General Manager (Public Relations) Tahera Khnadaker.

A total of 1, 27,198 Bangladeshi citizens went to Saudi Arabia to perform the annual ritual this year.

Hajj flights to Saudi Arabia began on July 4 and continued until August 5. Return flights will continue till September 15.

According to ministry of Religious Affairs, 81 hajj pilgrims died till August 16.
