Bid to snatch Tk10 lakh: Police constable among 2 sent to jail

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has sent constable of Bangshal Police Station among 2 to jail in a case filed over bid to snatch Tk 10 lakh in the capital’s Motijheel.

The accused are police constable Al-Mamun and Jahidul Islam Jitu, who identified himself as CID Inspector.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate sent to jail after one-day remand period ended on Saturday.

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Motijheel Police Station, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced them before the court and filed petition to keep detained in jail until the investigation ends.

Earlier, the court placed them on a day-remand on September 5.
