Govt brings back golden days of jute

Staff Correspondent: Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi (Bir Protik) said, the government is active to solve problems of jute sector. The government has brought back the golden days of jute increasing the use of jute goods.

The minister made the opinion while addressing a meeting with the members of Bangladesh Jute Association at the conference room of Textiles and Jute Ministry on Sunday.

He said, ‘Mandatory Jute Packaging Act 2010’ has been implemented properly. The incumbent government bring back life in jute industry under its efficient leadership and management.

“The use of jute bags has been made mandatory for wrapping 19 products in the country. The government is working to increase the production and export of raw juts and jute goods.”

Textiles and Jute Ministry joint secretary Md Khurshid Iqbal Rezvi, Bangladesh Jute Association (BJA) president Sheikh Syed Ali, Senior Vice Chairman Arzu Rahman Bhuiyan, BJA former president Md Rezaul Karim and others joined the meeting.
