Abrar murder: Amit Saha remanded for 5 days

A Dhaka court has placed Amit Saha, one accused of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Abrar Fahad murder case, on a five-day remand.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sarafuzzaman Ansari passed the order on Friday.

Earlier, DB Inspector (Civil) Md Wahiduzzaman, also Investigation Officer ((IO) of the case, produced Amit and Mohammad Toha before the court and sought for a 10-day remand for each.

On Thursday, Detective Branch (DB) of police held Amit Saha from Sabujbag area of the capital.

Amit, legal affairs deputy secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) BUET unit, is one of the resident students of the Room no 2011 where Abrar was beaten to death.

Amit searched for Abrar on messenger to one of his roommates on the night when he was killed. A screenshot of Amit’s messenger in this regard later went viral.

Ifti Mosharraf Shokal gave confessional statement in the case as the first accused. Besides, 12 more accused are on remand for 12 days each.
