Abrar murder: Amit-Toha on 5-day remand each

A Dhaka court has placed Amit Saha and Mohammad Toha on a five-day remand each in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Abrar Fahad murder case.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sarafuzzaman Ansari passed the order on Friday.
Earlier, DB Inspector (Civil) Md Wahiduzzaman, also Investigation Officer ((IO) of the case, produced Amit and Mohammad Toha before the court and sought for a 10-day remand for each.
On Thursday, Amit Saha was held from Sabujbag area of the capital while Toha from Mawna in Gazipur.
Amit, legal affairs deputy secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) BUET unit, is one of the resident students of the Room no 2011 where Abrar was beaten to death. Toha is a member of BCB BUET unit.
Amit searched for Abrar on messenger to one of his roommates on the night when he was killed. A screenshot of Amit’s messenger in this regard later went viral.
Ifti Mosharraf Shokal gave confessional statement in the case as the first accused. He disclosed names of Amit and Toha in his statement.
Besides, 12 more accused are on remand for 12 days each.
