Cyclone Bulbul: Over 5,000 homes destroyed

At least two people have been died and injured 30 others and destroyed more than 5,000 houses as cyclonic storm hit the coastal areas.

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman made the disclosure while addressing a press conference at on Sunday noon.

He said, “The government took massive preparation to face the cyclone. Most of the people in coastal areas were shifted to cyclone shelters. We have provided shelter to 216,918 people in 5,587 shelters successfully.”

“We have ensured death of two people officially. Media reported that four people have been died and injured around 30 people. Besides, around five thousands of houses are damaged,” he added.  

Meanwhile, Md Shah Kamal, secretary of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry and top officials of the ministry attended the function.
