Cyclone Bulbul claims 14 lives

At least 14 people were killed in different coastal districts as very severe cyclone ‘Bulbul’ hit coastal areas of the country.
Dr Aysha Aktar, assistant director of the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter.
Of the deceased 5 were known as - Hamid Fakir, 65, in Mirzaganj of Patuakhali, Alamgir, 40, hailed from Dighalia of Khulna, Pramila Mandal, 52, hailed from Dakop upazila, Samia, 15, from Rampal of Bagerhat and Saleha Begum, 60 of Madaripur Sadar.
Aysha Aktar said, one from Patuakhali, two from Khulna, two from Bagerhat, one from Barishal, one from Barguna, two from Shariatpur, two from Gopalganj and one from Pirojpur died when tree fell on them.
Meanwhile, two more newborn babies were born at cyclone shelters in Patuakhali and Bagerhat districts.
Aysha Aktar also said, another person named Halima Khatun, 70 died due to old age complications at cyclone shelter in Barguna.
In Barishal, a woman, Asmat Mazumder, 65, died as a tree fell on her at Ujirpur municipality.
