Bangabandhu rail bridge foundation stone laying Mar 14

The foundation stone laying of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Railway Bridge over the Jamuna River is likely to be held on March 14.

Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan came up with the disclosure in a press briefing at Rail Bhaban on Wednesday noon.

He said, “All preparations have been completed to lay foundation stone of Bangabandhu Rail Bridge on the Jamuna River. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the project. However, it has yet not been finalised whether PM will inaugurate it laying foundation stone in presence or through video conference.”

A Japanese contracting company will construct the bridge, he added.
