The negative impact of novel coronavirus in China is seen in Bangladesh.
Import of Chinese products is halted following the communication suspensions between the two countries. Ultimately, the prices of Chinese items have risen at the local markets in Bangladesh, largely due to the spread of coronavirus in China.
Bangladesh has temporarily suspended its visa-on-arrival services for Chinese nationals.
Sources said, businessmen are avoiding China travel following the coronavirus outbreak. No products are importing from China. As a result, retail sellers are bound to pay more during buying Chinese products than previous time.
Hasan Mahmud, director of an electronics company said, most of products including electronics, industrial and machineries of Nababpur market in the capital come from China.
“Some Chinese goods are available to the wholesalers. But, they increased the prices of goods 10 to 30 percent. We hope, this problem will be solved by April”, he said.
