Fire at Nayapalton building

A fire broke out at a multi-storeyed building on culvert road in Dhaka’s Nayapalton area this afternoon.

The fire originated at the 12^th floor of the 19-storey building at 2:50pm, said Lima Khanom, duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

On information, eight units of firefighters were trying to bring the fire under control, Lima said.

Reasons behind the fire and amount of losses caused by it could not be known immediately.
