Nayapalton building fire under control

The fire that broke out at a multi-storeyed building on culvert road in Dhaka’s Nayapalton area this afternoon has been brought under control.

Firefighters brought the fire under control around 4:15pm on Thursday.

No casualties were reported in the fire.

The fire originated at the 12th floor of the 19-storey DR Tower at 2:50pm and was brought under control after about one and a half hours' effort, said Lima Khanom, duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Reasons behind the fire and amount of losses caused by it could not be known immediately.
