3 committees formed to prevent coronavirus

Health Minister Jahid Malek said three powerful committees comprising 31 members from different organisations have been formed across the country in order to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus or COVID-19.

He made the disclosure while addressing a programme in Mohakhali area of Dhaka yesterday afternoon.

The health minister said, “Coronavirus has already spread to over 70 countries in the world. Our country is also at the risk of the disease. A preparedness plan has been finalised to tackle any possible spread of coronavirus in the country. Monitoring system has been strengthened at all ports in the country. In order to prevent the spread of the virus, three powerful committees have been formed in all upazilas and districts of the country.”

“Necessary steps have been taken to provide training to doctors and nurses. It has also been asked to open hotline for all the time,” he added.
