Tk200 banknotes to be launched in March

Bangladesh Bank (BB) will issue regular currency notes and commemorative notes of Taka 200 in March.

The new banknotes will be circulated marking the birth centenary celebration of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Besides, 1,050 gold coins of Tk 100 and 5,000 silver coins of similar value will be released to mark the occasion.

Bangladesh Bank director general (department of communications and publications) G. M Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the matter.
