Rupnagar slum fire under control, 1500 shanties gutted

About 1500 shanties have been gutted in the devastating fire broke out at a slum at Rupnagar in capital’s Mirpur.
The fire originated around 9.45am on Wednesday. On information, a total of 25 units of fire service rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control with an effort of three hours.
Duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence control room Rusel Shikder confirmed the news.
Many took shelter near Islamia Govt Primary School with their goods.
