Coronavirus: Writ seeks closure of all edu institutions

A writ petition has been filed with the High Court (HC) seeking its directive on the government to close all educational institutions and river, air and land ports in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Advocate Yunus Ali Akondo filed the writ with the concerned branch of the High Court as a public interest litigation on Sunday.

An HC bench, led by Justice Md Mujibur Rahman Mia, is likely to hear the writ petition tomorrow.

Cabinet secretary, home secretary, education secretary and health secretary have been made respondents to the writ.
