Bangladesh reports 1 more coronavirus death, 18 new cases

One more person has died after being infected with coronavirus or COVID-19 in the country, raising the total number of deaths in the virus to nine.

Eighteen more people have been found to be infected with coronavirus in last 24 hours, taking the number of confirmed cases to 88.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque made the disclosure after joining a regular online media briefing of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) on Sunday (April 5).

The deceased is from Narayanganj and 55 years old, the minister told the press briefing.

Three new patients have recovered during this period, the health minister said.

So far, 54 people who were earlier infected with Covid-19 have recovered, he added.
