Suspension of flights with 16 countries extended

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (Caab) on Saturday (April 11) extended the suspension of all international and domestic flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines till April 30 as part of the government’s overall efforts to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus or COVID-19 in the country.

The suspension will be effective for 16 international countries.

The countries include Bahrain, Bhutan, Hong Kong, India, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, UAE and UK.

A Caab press release has been issued in this regard today.

Cargo, relief-laden cargo, air-ambulance, special flights and emergency landing flights will remain out of the purview of the suspension.

Earlier, the national flag-carrier cancelled all of its international and domestic flights till April 14.
