PM announces Tk 5000cr stimulus package for agriculture sector

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unveiled a Tk 5,000 crore stimulus package with five percent interest rate in the agricultural sector in response to the ongoing shutdown amid coronavirus fears.

The premier made the announcement while holding a videoconference with officials of the districts under Barishal and Khulna divisions from her official residence Gono Bhaban at 10 am on Sunday (April 12).

Meanwhile, the prime minister has asked the authorities concerned to provide farmers with all-out cooperation.
