Virtual court denies bail to Sangram editor

The virtual court has denied bail to Abul Asad, editor of the Daily Sangram, in a case filed under Digital Security Act.
The court has also directed him to file his bail petition to the regular court.
A virtual court bench of Justice Jahangir Hossain Selim passed the order on Wednesday.
Senior lawyer Khandaker Mahbub Hossain attended the video conference hearing for Abul Asad. Advocate Mohammad Shishir Monir assisted him.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and Deputy Attorney General Dr. Md Bashir Ullah stood for the state.
On December 13 in 2019, Muktijoddha Sangsad Commander of Hatirjheel area, Mohammad Afzal lodged the case against the editor under the Digital Security Act.
Earlier, on December 12, the daily published a report, where executed convict Abdul Kader Molla was labelled as 'martyr'. He was convicted for his crime against humanity during the War of Liberation in 1971.
