Nasima Sultana now acting DG of DGHS

Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Prof Dr Abul Kalam Azad is currently under isolation with coronavirus-like symptoms.

In his absentia, Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of DGHS, is working as DG.

Nasima Sultana herself came up with the development while speaking online health bulletin on Wednesday.

She said, “I’m Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of DGHS. Although, I’m now acting as Director General.”

Earlier, an official document signed by DG Abdul Kalam Azad on May 12 read that he would be absent in office for a temporary period because of illness. For this temporary period, additional director general (administration) Dr Nasima Sultana will act as DG.
