Robbery at Walton showroom: Two remanded again

A Dhaka court has placed two robbers Sumon and Rana on a fresh two-day remand in a case filed over robber at Walton showroom in the capital’s Panthapath.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dheman Chandra Mondal passed the order on Tuesday.
Earlier, Sher-e-Banglanagar Police Station SI Sumon Chandra Sheel, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, produced them before the court after their first phase remand ended and sought fresh seven-day remand for each.
On July 5, they were remanded for a day while another accused named Sathi was sent to jail after his confessional statement.
On the midnight of June 23, a robbery occurred at Panthapath showroom of Walton. Robbers took away 24 Walton refrigerators, 5 LED TVs, a mobile phone set, Tk 4.5 thousand of driver and Tk 800 of helper. The estimated cost of the goods is over 6 lakh. Of the goods, police rescued 18 refrigerators and 3 LED TVs.
