DGHS directs to stop all activities at Regent Hospital

Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS) has directed to stop all activities of Regent Hospital due to irregularities.

Dr Md Aminul Hasan, director (Hospital and Clinic) of DGHS revealed the matter in a press release on Tuesday.

He said that Regent Hospital Limited’s Uttara and Mirpur branch have been providing medical services to patients suffering from Covid-19 since March. According to media reports, the hospital was illegally collecting huge amounts of money from the two patients. It was proven that they embezzled money and committed irregularities by giving false reports in the name of RT-PCR examination despite not having approval, and not renewing the licence despite being urged, release said.

Due to the mentioned irregularities and in accordance with “The Medical Practice & Private Clinic & Laboratories Regulation Ordinance-1982” the activities of the hospital were ordered to be stopped immediately.
