Golam Sarwar made new envoy to Malaysia

The government has decided to appoint Md. Golam Sarwar as the next Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia.
A foreign ministry press release was issued in this regard on Monday (September 7).
Sarwar is currently serving as the Bangladesh Ambassador to Oman.
Sarwar is a career diplomat belonging to 10th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs Cadre, the press release said.
Prior to his present assignment, he also served as Ambassador of Bangladesh to Sweden with concurrently accredited to Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.
In his career, he served in Bangladesh missions in Yangon, Kuala Lumpur, Kathmandu, Washington DC and Jeddah in various capacities while at the foreign ministry here he worked in different positions including as Director General (South East Asia).
Sarwar obtained his Master of Commerce in Accounting from Dhaka University and completed his Articleship under the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).
