Bosila Bridge to be demolished: State minister for planning

State minister for planning Dr Shamsul Alam has said that 805 iron bridges across the country will be demolished and rebuilt to the required height in interest of smooth navigation. Mohammadpur Bosila Bridge also did not help us. Due to the bridge, cargoes could not move in the Turag river. We are thinking of demolishing the bridge.

The state minister said this while briefing details of the Iron Bridge Reconstruction/Rehabilitation 1st Amendment Project in the southern part of the country through a video conference from Gonobhabon on Wednesday (July 28).

Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting via video conference from her official residence Gonobhabon.

The State Minister for Planning said, “These 805 bridges will be demolished and 1,244 new RCC / PC girder bridges will be rebuilt/rehabilitated. PM has asked to rebuild the bridges at required height in interest of smooth navigation. Besides, PM also issued instructions not to lift sand anywhere.

He said, “Even if arranged legally, sand cannot be lifted wherever it is. In addition, in the case of food processing, milk processing should be taken. Initiatives should also be taken to increase the use of herbal medicine.”
