Helena Jahangir put on 8-day remand

A court in Dhaka has placed Helena Jahangir, suspended member of the Awami League's sub-committee on women's affairs, on a eight-day remand in two cases-a fraud case and a case under Telecommunications Regular Act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahinur Rahman passed the order on Tuesday (August 3).

Earlier, she was taken to the court, and the police sought 14 days remand.

On Friday, a court in Dhaka placed Helena Jahangir on a three-day remand in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.

On July 29, RAB conducted a drive in her residence and seized a huge amount of narcotics, gambling materials and other illegal materials.
