8 died in road crash

Staff Correspondent, SAVAR, Oct 30: Eight people including a woman were killed and 25 others injured in a triangular collision involving two buses and a truck at Joypura on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka district on Wednesday evening.
 
Six of the deceased were identified as Dilara, 28, and Jalil, 58, of Dhamrai, Majnu, 50, Awlad, 45, and Montaz, 55, of Saturia in Manikganj, and Korban Ali, 49, of Narail.
 
Officer-in-charge of Dhamrai Police Station Abdur Rashid said a Saturia-bound bus of ‘SB Link Paribahan’ from the capital collided head-on with a ‘D Link Paribahan’ bus coming from the opposite direction near Joypura bus stand around 6pm.
 
Just after the collision, a truck crashed into the two buses on the highway, leaving three people dead on the spot and 33 others injured.
 
Locals and firefighters rescued the injured and rushed them to different hospitals. Of them, five succumbed to their injuries at hospitals.
 
Of the injured, 11 were rushed to Enam Medical College Hospital at Savar while 10 others sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
