Qcoom CEO arrested

The Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested Ripon Mia, chief executive officer of e-commerce platform Qcoom.

Members of BD police arrested him from the capital’s Dhanmondi area on Sunday on charges of embezzling money through online fraud.

Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Faruk Hossain confirmed the news on Monday morning.

He said the DB chief would share more details at a press conference today.
