Complaint lodged against Murad Hassan

A complaint has been lodged with Shabagh Police Station in the capital against Dr. Murad Hassan, who has resigned from the post of state minister for information and broadcasting, for his derogatory comments.  

Zulias Cizar Talukdar, a student of Dhaka University, lodged the complaint on Tuesday.

Moudut Hawlader, officer-in-charge of Shabagh Police Station, confirmed the news.

The OC said the DU student made the complaint mentioning that Murad Hassan spoke ill about Dhaka University and made indecent comments over its female students.

It has been sent to the cyber tribunal team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (CMP) for investigation, he also said.

Murad Hassan has resigned as state minister for information and broadcasting following the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for his offensive and indecent remarks.

The under-fire junior minister submitted his resignation letter to the Prime Minister on Tuesday citing ‘personal reasons’ for quitting his job.
