Hasan Foez Siddique made new Chief Justice

Justice Hasan Foez Siddique of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has been appointed as the 23rd Chief Justice of the country.

The law ministry issued a press release in this regard on Thursday (30 December).

President M Abdul Hamid made the appointment in line with article 95(1) of the constitution.

Justice Hasan will take oath on 31 December. The tenure of present Chief Justice Mahmud Hossain will end tomorrow.

President Abdul Hamid will administer the oath to the new chief justice on Friday (December 31) at the Bangabhaban.
