Court orders to probe GD against Murad filed by his wife

A Dhaka court has issued an order to probe a General Diary (GD) against former State Minister for Information Dr Murad Hasan filed by his wife Dr Jahanara Ehsan.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid passed the order on Sunday (January 09).

Dhanmondi Police Station Sub-Inspector Fuad Uddin confirmed the matter.

Earlier, Dhanmondi Police Station Sub-Inspector Rajib Hassan, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the GD, on Saturday sent it to the court seeking permission for investigation.

Mentionable, Dr Murad’s wife Dr Jahanara Ehsan called on 999, the national emergency number, seeking assistance of police on January 06. However, Murad had left home before police reached the spot. On the day, Jahanara filed a GD against Murad.
