Police seize firearms of Murad, his wife

Police have seized two licensed firearms of former state minister Dr Murad Hasan and one of his wife Dr Jahanara Ehsan.

The weapons were seized for the sake of security, according to police.

Ekram Ali Mia, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhanmondi Police Station, confirmed the matter to risingbd on Sunday (January 09) afternoon.

The seized firearms include two shotguns and a pistol, the OC said.

Mentionable, Dr Murad’s wife Dr Jahanara Ehsan called on 999, the national emergency number, seeking assistance of police on January 06. However, Murad had left home before police reached the spot. On the day, Jahanara filed a GD against Murad.
