Shimu murder: Husband, his friend confess to killing

Khandokar Shakhawat Alim Nobel, the husband of slain actress Raima Islam Shimu, and his friend Abdullah Forhad, have confessed to their involvement in the murder.
Court Inspector Mejbah Uddin of Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate Court told this to journalists on Friday.
On January 18, the court granted three days remand to them. On Friday, the court recorded their statement and sent them to jail, he said.
Shimu used to live with her husband and child at a flat in Green Road in the city. She went missing on Sunday morning.
Local people spotted the body in a sack near Alipur Bridge in the Kadamtoli area of Keraniganj upazila around 10.00am on Monday and informed cops. Later, police recovered the body.
According to police, Shimu’s elder brother Shariful Islam filed a case against some people including her husband Nobel.
