Remove Mohshin’s suicide video from social media: HC

The High Court has ordered that the suicide video of actor Riaz's father-in-law Abu Mohashin Khan, who committed suicide on Facebook Live, be removed from social media within the next six hours.

The HC bench of Justices Farah Mahbub and Justice SM Moniruzzaman passed the order on Thursday (February 3). The BTRC and the Home Ministry directed to implement the directive.

Earlier, Mohashin had come on Facebook live from his residence at level 5 of a building on Road No 7 of Dhanmondi area of the capital on Wednesday (February 2) night. He committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with his licensed gun on Facebook live, which lasted for more than 16 minutes.

During the live, he talked about a variety of difficulties in his life including the loneliness of old age and frustration with his family.

Mohashin was a businessman by profession. He is survived by a daughter and a son, who lives in Australia with his mother.
