Greece labour market reopens for Bangladeshis

Greece has officially reopened its labour market to Bangladeshi workers.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the two countries at Dhaka’s Expatriates' Welfare building on Wednesday noon (February 9).
Expatriates' Welfare Minister Imran Ahmed and Greek Minister for Migration and Asylum, Panagiotis Mitarachi signed the MoU on behalf of their respective nations.
According to the agreement, Greece will take 4,000 workers from Bangladesh every year. They will mainly be employed in various sectors including agriculture, construction and tourism.
Ahmed Munirus Saleheen, Secretary, Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment and Secretary-General of Migration Policy of the Hellenic Republic of Greece Patroklos Georgiadis attended the function.
