We want to work together with Bangladesh: US

Under Secretary for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, the third-ranked official at the US Department of State, said the United States wants to work unitedly with Bangladesh in terms of global security on the backdrop of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

At the outset of the eighth Partnership Dialogue, a platform that began in 2012 for discussing all aspects of bilateral relations, Victoria Nuland said, “Bangladesh and the US will work together to protect democracy and human rights at a time when Russia is invading Ukraine in the changed world situation and international law and human rights are under threat. Dhaka will have to work more to increase the US investment in Bangladesh.”

Nuland lauded Bangladesh’s role in combatting coronavirus and in the vaccination campaign.

The eighth Partnership Dialogue began at State guesthouse Padma in Dhaka on around 11:30 pm on Sunday (March 20).

Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen led the Bangladesh delegation while Under Secretary for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, the third-ranked official at the US Department of State, led the US side at the dialogue.
